Welcome to BodhiTree! Please read these Terms of Service ("TOS") prior to signing up for an account on our website or using our mobile application. To use BodhiTree services (via both website and mobile application), you must accept and agree to be legally bound by the below mentioned agreements.
Note that BodhiTree reserves the right to modify the TOS at any time without any advance notice. Be sure to check this page periodically to get to know the latest version of the TOS. The changes will be posted on this page and will be effective starting from the posted effective date.
Agreements:
You agree that you are responsible for your own use of all content submitted, posted, published, or distributed on the BodhiTree website and the mobile application. You agree that you will abide by not just this agreement but also all applicable local, state, national and international laws, rules and regulations, including copyright laws.
You will not use the BodhiTree website or its mobile application in any manner that damages, overloads or impairs our servers or network or interferes with any other party’s use of our services. You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our services, site content, servers, networks or other accounts through web-scraping, bulk downloads, hacking, password mining, or any other means. If you are a registered user, you will not share your password and let anyone else compromise your account.
You will not submit, publish, post or share content that is unlawful, obscene, intentionally inaccurate or malicious; defames, harasses or threatens others; discusses illegal activities and infringes on another’s intellectual property.
If you have a student account (all accounts created via sign-up on BodhiTree website/mobile-application are student accounts), all content (videos, quizzes, documents, lab material and other instructional material) available on BodhiTree is for your personal use.
If you have an instructor account, in addition to the above personal use, if a course is certified as a public course, you can also use that course to manage your class, wherein you can share all the content with your students who should also be registered account holders of BodhiTree.
All rights, if not expressly granted are reserved.
By submitting, posting, publishing, or distributing any content on BodhiTree, you affirm and warrant (1) that you have the necessary rights, licenses, and permission to reproduce and publish the content, (2) You, and not BodhiTree, are solely responsible for your content and the consequences therein.
In case you created a course and wish to make the course content (static content such as videos, notes, slides, quizzes, lab material etc which stays the same across course offerings) public, you need to release it to us under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.
Bodhitree is committed to advancing education research. All dynamic content generated during the running of a course (discussion forum posts, student submitted files, emails sent etc, which change across course offerings ) may be used for education research. We will anonymize all such data prior to any publication. By default, you authorize Bodhitree and its users to reproduce, publish, analyze and otherwise use, modify and distribute such dynamic content. If you do not wish this, institutes need to get into a specific MOU with us or as an individual you should not use BodhiTree services.
By default, BodhiTree reserves the right to cancel, interrupt, reschedule, or modify any content in all courses being run on the platforms managed by it. If you do not wish this, you need to get into a specific MOU with us.
From time to time, BodhiTree partnering institutions may offer courses and programs using the BodhiTree platform for a fee. BodhiTree website or mobile application may host such advertisements. BodhiTree is however not responsible for and does not endorse the contents of or use of any of the products or services that may be offered by such partners. If you decide to enroll in such programs, do so at your own risk and please clarify the terms and conditions directly with the institute/entity offering the program.
Copyright owners who believe their material has been infringed on BodhiTree website or mobile application can contact us with full details at bodhitree@cse.iitb.ac.in.
THE BODHITREE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND (EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE). USE OF OUR SERVICES AND THE CONTENT IS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK. YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PROPERTY (INCLUDING YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM) OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE DOWNLOAD OR USE OF SUCH MATERIAL OR DATA, UNLESS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED FOR IN THE PRIVACY POLICY.
